Pop-up hepatitis C testing clinics are being set up across Aotearoa New Zealand on World Hepatitis Day this Wednesday to make it quick and easy for at risk Kiwis to get tested for the virus. Around 45,000 New Zealanders are living with hepatitis C. However, due to symptoms often not appearing for many years, half of them may be unaware they have it.

Further support for Group 3 vaccination appointments

An 0800 number will be launched today, allowing Group 3 people who haven’t yet received an invitation for their COVID-19 vaccination to make an appointment. Jo Gibbs, National Director of the COVID-19 Vaccine and Immunisation Programme, says the 0800 number will provide booking support and vaccination information. Advisors will also answer clinical questions.
