CM Health Level 3 Visitor Policy; Guidance for outpatients and COVID contacts

With Auckland moving to Alert Level 3 CM Health has made changes to bring its Visitor Policy in line with the new Alert Level.

Visiting at our facilities is currently only on essential and compassionate grounds, or for birthing partners.

Whaanau wishing to visit a patient on these grounds will need to contact the Charge Nurse/Midwife for the ward their family member is on

We appreciate this is a difficult time for our patients’ friends and whaanau – please remember that our policy is in place to ensure all our patients are safe.

Covid-19: Mr Whippy-style vaccination bus to roll in Auckland

Mobile vaccination buses, in the style of beloved Mr Whippy ice-cream vans, will be used to deliver Covid-19 jabs to people who haven’t been able to access them, the prime minister has announced.

The bus programme will start running on Thursday in Auckland, Jacinda Ardern said at her 1 pm press conference on Tuesday. Under Alert Levels 4 and 3, the buses will act as mobile pop-up vehicles, with the vaccines delivered outside the buses to ensure appropriate social distancing can be observed.

Rapid testing for COVID-19 starts at Middlemore

Today Director General of Health, Dr Ashley Bloomfield has announced a pilot of rapid antigen testing is to commence at Middlemore Emergency Department. Rapid Antigen Testing will improve the ability to more quickly detect the presence of COVID-19 virus.

Auckland Alert Level

Auckland will move to Alert Level 3 at 11:59pm on Tuesday 21 September. It will remain at Alert Level 4 until then. The Government will confirm this decision on Monday 20 September.

Reminder to wear face coverings on public transport

Auckland Transport is reminding all commuters they must wear face masks while riding public transport.

AT said customers were also advised to scan the Ministry of Health’s QR code on buses, trains and ferries.

“Everyone 12 years and older must wear a face covering on public transport at all Alert Levels.”

Face masks could be purchased from 42 vending machines spread across public transport facilities around Auckland, AT said.

Protecting tamariki the priority as Kidz First changes visitor policy

Due to a sudden increase in admissions of children to hospital and the risk of spreading viruses across our community, our Kidz First visitor policy has changed. The policy change will see only parents and primary caregivers able to visit those children admitted to hospital. No other visitors, including siblings will be permitted.
